Poetry

Posted on 20 August 2003

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.
-Robert Frost

I occasionally pen down poems when feelings and emotions within me need a creative outlet. I tend to be impressed by the beauty of nature in its various forms and many of my poems have reflected sentiments associated with awe, wonder and reverence.

I’ve penned many poems during throes of brief romances. Unfortunately, all of them fizzled sooner or later. I’m still single (and looking :)

The following is a sample collection of my poems.

Emotion of Love

Oh! the dreams of love,
Deep inside my heart’s alcove
Myriad hues of passion
Sipping Cupid’s potion
Emotions wafting like Cuckoo’s song
Through my soul, does it throng
Dancing gaily like the light, unseen
From a wild brook’s ripple, full of sheen
My spirit is filled with glee,
Like a bird set free.
You are the Aurora of my life’s night,
Will you accept me as your white knight ?
Feelings, gleaming in astral trance
Is this what is romance ?

Sea of Love

In swirling mists of dejection and despair
Away from the world, I sought a lair
In the stormy sea of my life, faith forlorn
Masthead of my ship was torn
A beacon I sought, bright and white
Oh! Imagine my delight!
When, You walked into my life, lass
Cosmic tintoretto of unmatched class
My manna from heaven!
Uprooting me from the swirling watery cavern
I now see the light of day
My masthead, in the safe bay
On the deck I stand; with fortitude,
Ready to face nature’s turpitude
Oh my Love, I will reach the pebbled shore
To a hero’s welcome, of fame and lore
Be my queen, of all the distant lands I will conquer
Walk with me till life’s setting sun and zephyr.
