This funny looking thing is a little robot called Keepon. It is programmed to dance to whatever music you play to it, and is made in Japan. It’s really cool, in a funny hypnotic kind of way, making you wanna see it dance again and again. Weird!

This is a hedge fund (marriage) destined for fund outflows (divorce).Love is relatively illiquid, such that if it takes on large speculative investments, and develops into something like a live-in relationship or marriage, there will be a lock-up period. This is where derivatives and hedging come into play. According to our possibly fabricated research, the married put was developed specifically for use in reducing the downside risk in instititional marriage markets.
It floors your downside, and there is unlimited upside — if the love falters or a better substitute arrives, you can walk away with no marginal pain. The best hedge funds just as the best marriages understand risk management and create an environment where downside protection is a given.

HORN OK PLEASE was produced in 2006 by Flickerpix Animations Ltd. in Belfast. It is a creative collaboration between animators from India and Northern Ireland.
This film is combination of stop-motion (clay) models and drawn, composited backgrounds. The whole film was shot on a NIKON D70 stills camera and post-produced in After Effects on a simple pc.
Performed by a German known as “the trainrider”. Before he died from leukemia, he enjoyed the last year of his life by surfing on trains; Germany’s fastest Highspeed train ICE with a top speed of 330 km/h(!) No one had done that before. Never to be forgotten R.I.P.

I had a great time during the IIT Diwali Dhamaka yesterday in Silicon Valley. Met a lot of old friends. And needless to say, my almamater, IIT Bombay won the competition!
If you saw a guy in a Hawaiian shirt in the centre back loudly cheering for IIT Bombay, that was me!

I am off to a four-day adventure in the Grand Canyon tomorrow. I will be white-water rafting in the Colorado River, hiking in the backcountry inside the canyon rim, and camping overnight in the wild. It promises to be very challenging.

Finland will play host this weekend to the 11th annual World Championship of Wife-Carrying, a bizarre sports festival held in a country that loves peculiar competitions. (The Finns also hold annual contests in mosquito-killing, sand-skiing, beer-barrel rolling, and “air guitar” playing.)
In the wife-carrying competition, men physically transport their spouses over a grueling 831-foot obstacle course that includes log hurdles, hairpin curves, changing terrain, and a four-foot-deep pool of cold water. Husbands can haul their brides any way they wish—piggyback, fireman’s carry, over-the-transom style—but they are severely penalized if they drop their wives at any point.
After everyone has finished the course, the husband with the fastest time wins an array of prizes, including—get this—the equivalent of his wife’s weight in beer!
